Your love for Anne brings me so much joy, Monique. Reading your words brought me home, as Anne and I are from the same small island. I haven't lived there in over a decade, but it holds a special place in my heart.
I so enjoyed reading this post and part of your non-fiction eassy your wrote about Anne... beautifully written, thank you for sharing Monique! π€
"Kindred spirits are not as scarce as I used to think. Itβs splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world." This is definitely one of my most loved quotes from Anne of Green Gables, but there are so many great ones to choose from! I love all of the Anne of Green Gables books and the Emily of New Moon series, I have not read any of The Story Girl books though... I think I will have to add these to my TBR. What are they about? Me and my Ma have been re-watching the original Anne of Green Gables movies and we are enjoying them so much, they are just so lovely and homely! π

I just love everything about this post Monique. I share your longings for a nature bound northern autumn (one day). On the Peninsula we have a pine forest where Fly Agaric grow abundantly, some as big as dinner plates! It's quite magical π
On Anne, I'm saving her for when my daughter is a little bit older so we can read her together, but we are not far off. We've read some abridged versions by Kallie George which are beautifully illustrated.
Thank you for all the goodness you've shared here π₯°
I adore Anne, she is a kindred spirit of mine and now I think I must reread her stories again - I love all of them, and watching her mature was an unexpected pleasure as I came to those later books as an adult. Thank you for sharing this with us! And also - your mushroom picture matches the one I posted today - October synchronicities π
How lovely to revisit this beautiful piece of writing from you about Anne, and reading, and nature. I think Anne would have loved to travel to Australia in π
