How wonderful that we are here to remind each other to take off pressures and be as we are. I like the “happily unproductive” concept. I’ll keep it next to “unapologetically happy.”

Great idea! Your post was just what I needed to read ... and I found when I let go of "having" to write, I wanted to. Let's keep being unapologetically happy :)

I could just read your 'thoughts' in words all day, everyday.

So thought provoking, I'm taking a leaf out of your well thumbed book Monique, I've also subscribed to "More Slow - Less Busy" and it's very nourishing for both the heart and soul - I'm fully onboard - th💕nk you

This was such a delightful read. Though it doesn't get as hot in NZ as in Australia, I can still relate to not functioning in the heat—all you want to do is lie on the floor and do nothing! And that's perfectly fine. We're not meant to function all the time. We are allowed to be happily unproductive. I've been having a day like that today. Also, I love your book art, maybe I should try that out sometime as well

Oh my goodness this energy sapping heat is just too much. I am also lurking inside, drifting between rooms, resting & chugging down bottles of water.

I love what you have done here with that book!! I’ve been messing around with collaging notes from church and now I’m going to give this a go too!! I’m not overly creative but I do like to play with words on paper….the perfect task as we face off another week in the 40’s 🙃

Thank you for reminding me it is completely okay to be happily unproductive.

Yes yes! Just being, creating things without purpose, searching delight in the tiny things.

Or as Jack Gilbert says it:

We must risk delight. We can do without pleasure,

but not delight. Not enjoyment. We must have

the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless

furnace of this world.

I loved reading this. Hard to imagine all consuming heat like that when it’s very cold here. But the will to do nothing. To give in to relaxation and creativity. That is how I feel right now and, more increasingly, every weekend. Thank you for writing this! ✨
